Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift Launched at ₹13.69 Lakh, Gets ADAS and New Z8S Variant
Mahindra has officially launched the updated Scorpio N in India, with prices starting at ₹13.69 lakh for the entry-level Z2 petrol manual and running up to ₹25.49 lakh for the range-topping Z8L diesel 4WD automatic with ADAS. The update is feature-driven rather than a mechanical overhaul, the existing engine and drivetrain lineup carries over unchanged, but the equipment list has grown substantially, and the lineup now spans seven variants instead of six, with a new Z8S trim slotting in above the Z6.
| Variant | Fuel/Transmission | Ex-Showroom Price |
|---|---|---|
| Z2 | Petrol MT | ₹13.69 Lakh |
| Z2 | Diesel MT | ₹14.19 Lakh |
| Z8S | Petrol MT / Diesel MT | ₹17.79 – 18.79 Lakh |
| Z8S | Petrol AT / Diesel AT | ₹19.26 – 19.89 Lakh |
| Z8L | Diesel 4WD AT (ADAS, top-spec) | ₹25.49 Lakh |
The headline addition is a panoramic sunroof, replacing the outgoing single-pane unit and giving the cabin a noticeably more open feel. Mahindra has also fitted a 540-degree surround view camera system with a dedicated blind-view monitor, aimed at making tight parking and low-speed manoeuvring easier to judge. The range-topping Z8L now gets Level 2 ADAS on top of that, a genuine first for the Scorpio N nameplate. On the outside, new R18 diamond-cut alloy wheels on the Z8T and Z8L trims reinforce the SUV's bulkier, more road-dominant stance.
Inside, the centre fascia now houses a larger floating touchscreen, roughly 12.3 inches, running Mahindra's AdrenoX connected car software with a year of built-in Alexa access, paired with a redesigned 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster offering three selectable layouts: normal, information-focused, and a stripped-back minimal view. Mahindra has kept a row of physical buttons alongside the touchscreen for climate and shortcut functions, a deliberate choice for quicker access while driving. Both rows get 65W USB Type-C charging ports.
The engine lineup is unchanged: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol producing around 203 bhp, and a 2.2-litre diesel offered in two states of tune (up to 175 bhp with the manual or automatic gearbox). 4WD remains available on the diesel's Z8T and Z8L trims.
Why It Matters
The Scorpio N has sold over 380,000 units since its 2022 debut, and this update is squarely aimed at keeping it feeling current against newer rivals without touching the pricing bracket or engine lineup that made it popular in the first place. The new Z8S variant in particular brings genuinely premium tech (bigger screens, curtain airbags, the connected features) down to a lower price point than before, worth a look even if you weren't planning to spend Z8T or Z8L money. This launch lands during Mahindra's broader Independence Day showcase, where the brand is also expected to reveal the production Vision S and a Scorpio N-based pickup, covered separately in our Independence Day 2026 preview.
