Skoda Octavia RS Second Batch: Pre-Bookings Open, Deliveries This Festive Season
Skoda has reopened bookings for the Octavia RS in India, confirming a second batch of the performance sedan alongside today's wider Skoda launch event that also covered the Slavia facelift and a diesel Superb. Pre-bookings are open now, with deliveries slated to begin this festive season.
The first Octavia RS batch, launched in October 2025, was limited to 100 fully-imported units and sold out in roughly 20 minutes, before Skoda had even announced pricing. Brand Director Ashish Gupta said at the time that close to 350 interested buyers were left on a waiting list, and that those existing bookings would get priority once a second allocation opened up — which appears to be exactly what's happening now.
Skoda hasn't announced official pricing for this second batch as part of today's reveal. The first batch launched at ₹49.99 lakh (ex-showroom); expect this one to land in a similar region, possibly with a modest increase given rising import costs on CBU models. Mechanically, the Octavia RS has carried a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol producing 265 PS and 370 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic, with a 0-100 km/h time of 6.4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h — the same powertrain shared with the Kodiaq RS and Volkswagen Golf GTI. There's no indication of a mechanical change for this batch, though we'll confirm once Skoda publishes full specs.
Why It Matters
The first batch proved there's a real, committed enthusiast audience in India willing to pay a premium for a CBU performance sedan with no direct rival at its price point. A second allocation — even a small one, given India's CBU import cap — signals Skoda sees the Octavia RS as a genuine, repeatable halo product rather than a one-off stunt. Expect it to sell out again quickly.
