Skoda Slavia Facelift Confirmed for August 18 Launch
Skoda is set to introduce the first facelift of the Slavia on August 18, four and a half years after the midsize sedan's original February 2022 debut. The update focuses on visual freshness and cabin tech rather than a mechanical rework, keeping the car's existing engine line-up in place.
On the outside, expect a new front grille with integrated LED elements, revised front and rear light units, mildly reworked bumpers, front parking sensors, and a new alloy wheel design. Inside, the facelift is expected to bring updated upholstery and could carry over the massage function for rear seats first seen on the related Kushaq facelift, along with a larger 10.25-inch digital driver's display.
Powertrain-wise, the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines are expected to continue largely unchanged, though the smaller 1.0 TSI may gain a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox option alongside the current manual and DSG choices.
Why It Matters
The Slavia has been one of Skoda's steadier sellers in India, and this update is aimed squarely at keeping it visually current against newer sedan and crossover rivals without disturbing what's worked mechanically. Official pricing and full variant details are expected to be confirmed around the August 18 launch.
Update: The Facelift Has Launched
Skoda launched the Slavia facelift on August 18 as scheduled, confirming a six-variant lineup — Classic, the newly-added Classic Plus, Signature, Sportline, Prestige, and Monte Carlo — along with the new 8-speed automatic and a confirmed feature list. One correction to earlier reporting: Level 2 ADAS, which several outlets had speculated might arrive with this update, is not part of the confirmed launch spec. Official variant-wise pricing had not been published at the time of writing; even outlets covering the launch live were still waiting on Skoda's official figures.
